This is the first movie of The Evil Dead series; most people would agree it is the best. Ash (Bruce Cambell) brings his group of friends to a cabin in the woods. Inside the in the basement they find some weird artifacts including a tape recorder and a book of the dead. They listen to the tape and a scientist on it says an ancient saying to bring out evil. One of Ash’s friends turns into a zombie, and then they lock her in the basement. Then another one of his friends turns into a zombie, and then they have to chop her up because she tried to kill the rest of them. The rest of the movie is filled with Ash battling the zombies with his trusty chainsaw and shotgun. Although there are poor special effects in this movie they are very interesting, and it is a good movie to get away from the usual horror movies. Rate:4/5 Buy it The Evil Dead - (1983)
